You fail only if you stop writing. -Ray Bradbury

My name is Lauren Marie Robb, and I’m pursuing my passion. This blog details my journey as an aspiring writer – from writing the first 25,000 words of my first ever first draft to my critiques and revisions, from my newest work in progress (WIP) to my eventual foray into agent queries and the wide world of publishing. I’m excited to share this with you, and hope that you enjoy the ride.

I’m currently working on two projects.

The first is an adult urban fantasy.

Until last month, Avery Bennett had never been kidnapped, had never gotten retrograde amnesia, and had never even considered the possibility that magic could exist in the twenty-first century. Now, as a reluctant oracle embracing the reality of all three – plus murder – she’s in a race against time to find the link between the 24 hours missing from her memory, her new magical abilities, and the murderer terrorizing Boise – before it costs her her life.

The second WIP is a young adult [somewhat dystopian] fantasy.

30 years ago, the Archterrans landed on Earth and saved us from the pandemic that was decimating humanity; now, they live among us, and there is a tenuous peace. Today, 18-year-old Mercury Johnson became the first human to attend a traditionally Archeterran secondary school, but adjusting to her new environment is suddenly the last thing on her mind when her father is shot and she uncovers his research into a terrorist plot. Now, Mercury and an unlikely ally must team up to stop the terrorists before they hit their next target. And time is running out…
